Task Force
Our Task Force was downtown Eugene looking for a missing girl when an obviously distraught man walked up to a few of us and began telling his story. With tears in his eyes he explained how his daughter was being trafficked. Because she was over 18 there was almost nothing he or the local authorities could do about it. Our hearts were shattered with his. They are trafficked at 17, but the minute they turn 18 the law looks at it as a choice.
Our local citizen task force, or LCAT, as we love to call it, was created to help families search for missing family members, educate our community and provide outreaches such as our yearly Survivor Speak Out event. We hold “Stands” not a protest on the streets, but a “Stand” for the vulnerable, victims and survivors. We also have an outreach at the U of O football games and more. Please consider joining us as we educate. What our mind does not know, our eyes cannot see.
